A Special Light

This little lamp is the first home furnishing piece I have purchased for my DC living (the pretty dresser it sits on belongs to the girl whose room I am subletting). I walked to a nearby Target to get some supplies after finally reaching my apartment (after a day of travel). I am not a huge fan of overhead lights so a lamp was a must to cast a cozy glow. The shade is a pastel green and I love the clear plastic globes on the stem. I have admired this lamp before and last night it felt so perfect to purchase it!

Today was the first time I drove in DC. I Zipcared in a cute red Prius called "Pea" to Alexandria, VA to deal with paperwork for my new job. Let's just say what should have been a half hour trip turned into an hour and half. DC is confusing for a first-time driver! But I survived and learned a ton about the cityscape.

Tomorrow is my first day of work and I am nervous/excited to see how it will all play out!  I have the best feeling of this move being so right. Have you ever gotten that feeling about a place or a person or even your choice of toothpaste? It's pretty fantastic.

  2. I totally know what you're talking about. That feeling of "rightness" is priceless. Often allusive, too, so it's extra brilliant, extra wondrous when it does happen. I'm so excited for you, sweetie! I've been thinking about you!

    PS the lamp is beautiful!
