Normandy

After visiting Monet's home in Giverny, we drove through the Normandy region.  The weather turned grey and moody.  The dim skies made the golden fields of safflower all the brighter.  We drove down small, winding roads, gazing out at limestone hills and tiny French towns.  We discovered a small town near Giverny where Monet had also lived and painted prior to moving to his Giverny estate. I am sorry to say that I don't know remember the name of the town but it contained some beautiful buildings from across history.

  1. Hi, I've just found your blog (through Elephantine) and was struck by these photos of Normandy. They remind me of my childhood holidays in France. Also, any of these photos could have been taken in a village in England somewhere - we have a lot of Norman architecture/features. Love these! Looks like you've been having great travels.
